The first camp of the STEM Scouts program is officially over – and was a great success! STEMology camp wrapped up on Friday, June 20 after a four-day program full of FUN hands-on activities centered on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
We are delighted to say that STEMology Camp was at full capacity, too. The camp was comprised of boys and girls ages 9-14, who wished to explore STEM experiments and activities. The campers were very involved in each and every activity and enjoyed the thought-provoking curriculum.
You don’t have to take our word for it though, here’s what a few of our campers had to say:
“The first day when we did all the fun turbines and knots – it was just fun!” – Shane (11)
“Getting to know each other better was my favorite part of the camp.” – Chandler (11)
One of most exciting afternoons occurred when WBIR-TV’s Emily Stroud attended camp for a live, on-air interview with the kids. Emily was so gracious of her time and we’re grateful for WBIR’s coverage. If you missed the segment, you can watch it here: http://www.wbir.com/videos/entertainment/2014/06/19/10998713/
Of course, we are extremely appreciative to The MUSE Knoxville for allowing us to use their outstanding facilities which provided the perfect accommodations for the daily STEM-related tasks and projects.
As always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions about STEM Scouts or how to participate in future camps.
