This year, Thomas Edison School has the privilege to host a STEM Scout after-school program in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America. The program consists of various modules including mini labs the students participate in to explore different topics. The module they are working on in this video is called “What’s the Matter” and allows students to explore the different states of matter and how changes between states occur. The mission of this program is to instill in students the basic principles they would learn in Boy Scouts such as integrity, responsibility, and respect, but through stimulating STEM activities. The goal is to tap into the curiosity students have about the STEM world in order to better prepare them for the future.
